Terms of service
Draft, pending legal review.
These terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Spoe (“Spoe”, “we”) for using the Spoe app and spoe.app. The Official Rules, the Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy are part of them. Where the Official Rules say how a challenge, a solo goal or your money works, they decide.
Who can use Spoe
You must be 18 or older and live in the United States, in a state where Spoe is offered, to put money into a challenge or a solo goal. You confirm your age when you sign up. Spoe measures your days with Apple’s Screen Time, so it needs an iPhone.
Your account
You sign in with Apple, Google or a code sent to your email. You pick a username once, and it stays the same for good. Keep access to your sign-in to yourself: whoever controls it controls your account and its balance.
You can delete your account in the app, under Account, then Delete account. The Privacy Policy says what goes at once and what is kept.
Usernames and photos
Your username and your photo are seen by other people on Spoe. Don’t use a name or photo that is offensive, impersonates someone or isn’t yours to use. Photos are checked before they are kept, people can report or block you, and Spoe can reset a username or remove a photo.
Playing fair
Use Spoe only as it is meant to be used. Don’t interfere with how your phone measures or reports your days, send false proof, or pay with a card or account that isn’t yours.
Spoe can hold an account while it reviews a result, a payment or a report. If Spoe finds that a run cheated, the Official Rules say what happens to its winnings.
Money
Every challenge shows its stake and Spoe fee before you join, and every solo goal its stake. Payments are taken by Stripe. To cash out, you set up a payout account with Stripe on its own pages.
How pools are split, when money comes back and how disputes are handled are set out in the Official Rules and the Refund Policy.
Changes, and closing an account
Spoe may change the app, stop offering a kind of challenge or goal, or update these terms. When the terms change, this page shows the new version.
Spoe can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Official Rules. Money owed to you is then handled as the Official Rules and the Refund Policy say.
What Spoe can’t promise
Spoe is provided as it is. It depends on Apple’s Screen Time and on your phone, and a day Spoe could not measure does not count as held, as the Official Rules say.
